Lost Palace – A Spatial Sound Installation

Catalyzing immersion through spatial sound.

Lost Palace is an exploration of spatialized format - namely dolby atmos, and a monitoring system of 7.1.4 to create a work in spatialized sound, layering multiple genres and sonic textures to create an immersive, engulfing narrative. The work draws on layering different temporality, and musical forms that spans orchestra, beat-driven music, vocals, pedal steel, solo piano, environmental recordings, and sound design.

Each piece contributes to a cohesive whole work, orchestral textures contrast with pulsing beats, slowed-down pedal steel dissolve into ambient textures, and imagery is evoked through the roar of flying cars in the height channels. This multi-perspective sonic narrative is reinforced by a cinematic visual rendered in-game engine, further immersing the audience in the world of Lost Palace.
